Earlier this month, Governor Mills created the Governor’s Economic Recovery Committee which meets every week on Fridays. A Tourism, Hospitality & Retail Subcommittee has been created and is meeting multiple times each week to help address the issues related to these critical sectors.
 
Please note that this committee is not in charge of reopening schedules or checklists for businesses. That continues to be DECD. All questions or comments for reopening issues is business.answers@maine.gov. 
 
The ERC was created to develop “recommendations to mitigate the damage to Maine’s economy caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and to jump start a long-term economic recovery for Maine people, businesses, and organizations.”

Notice of Economic Recovery Committee & Subcommittee Meetings 
 
The Governor's Economic Recovery Committee is engaging economic experts and industry representatives from across Maine to develop specific policy recommendations to stabilize the state’s economy and build a bridge to future prosperity in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. 
 
All meetings of the Committee and the subcommittees are open to the public. The public is encouraged to comment via this online portal. Submissions can be targeted by topic area and will be sent to the relevant subcommittees. In addition, members of the public who wish to contact the Committee staff may email EconomicRecoveryCommittee@maine.gov.
