Mornings at the Museum (Bethel Historical Society kids' activities)
Every Thursday in July, from 9:30 to 11:30 am, the Museums of the Bethel Historical Society will offer FREE activities for children ages 5-10.
Each day is a little different, but all offer children the opportunity to have hands-on experience with history: activities may include visiting the hands-on artifacts room, special tours of the 1813 Mason House, outdoor games with wooden baseball bats and golf clubs, hand- and treadle-sewing, preparing food and cooking in our 19th century kitchen, washing and drying clothes using a hand-wringer and wooden clothes pins, and watering and caring for our courtyard garden utilizing water pulled up in buckets from the original well — among other activities.
To reserve a spot or for more information, please call 207-824-2908. An adult is requested to remain on site, and the morning’s activities are weather dependent.
