Reciprocity Project Season 1 Live Online Film Screening and Q&A
The Gem invites you to join us on Thursday, November 17th for the Reciprocity Project Season 1 Online Film Screening and Q & A. Storytelling is most powerful when people come together to listen, share, and participate in reflective conversation — which is exactly what this event is all about. The event is FREE, but we encourage you to leave a donation at the box office which will be given to Upstander Project (https://upstanderproject.org/) and Nia Tero (https://www.niatero.org/).
Facing a climate crisis, the Reciprocity Project embraces Indigenous value systems that have bolstered communities since the beginning of time. To heal, we must recognize that we are in relationship with Earth, a place that was in balance for millennia. This short film series and multimedia platform, made in partnership with Indigenous storytellers and their communities worldwide, invites learning from time-honored and current Indigenous ways of being.
Reciprocity Project is a co-production of Upstander Project and Nia Tero in association with REI Co-op Studios.
Join Reciprocity Project filmmakers and community partners Brianna Smith (Passamaquoddy) co-director Weckuwapasihtit (Those Yet to Come), Jeremy Dennis (Shinnecock) director Ma’s House, Malia Akutagawa (Kanaka Maoli) associate producer Pili Ka Mo?o, Alisha Carlson (Gwich’in) associate producer Diiyeghan naii Taii Tr’eedaa (We Will Walk the Trail of our Ancestors), and Lauren Stevens (Passamaquoddy) co-director Weckuwapok (The Approaching Dawn), and Reciprocity Project series producer Adam Mazo for a live conversation and Q&A after the film.
