Women's MTB Fundamentals Clinic
Join us for a day of learning and riding within an inclusive and supportive atmosphere.
Fundamental skills are the foundation of mountain biking, and are appropriate for all skills levels and abilities.
Sunday August 25, from 9am-2pm (optional additional trial ride until 4pm)
Meeting Location: Bethel (Specific meeting site TBD, depending on conditions.)
9am-11am: We start the day by dialing in the following Fundamental Skills...It’s all about becoming a more dynamic rider.
* Stability and balance through proper body position & range of motion
* Smooth flowy riding with proper trail braking
* Emergency stopping techniques
* Proper shifting techniques
* Vision…picking lines, trail awareness, and corning
11am-12pm: Lunch Break: Refuel and Recharge
12pm-2pm: We head out on the trails...
Practicing what we learned & sessioning, which is essential to becoming a better rider. We find features that will allow us to further develop our fundamental skills; rock gardens, rock rollers & steeps, technical climbs and descents, and work through them as a group.*
2:30pm-4pm: Optional additional guided no drop trail ride on a trail of the instructors choice.
*On trail coaching and sessioning is dependent on the trail network and features available.
Cost:
$100 pp
Includes:
-4 hours of instruction & trail sessioning ride plus a 1.5 hour no drop guided trail ride, by (BICP) certified mountain bike instructor and Registered Maine Guide, Katy Carr.
Not Included:
-Bike / gear rentals
-Lunch
-Transportation to/from venue
