About Us

For the last 12 years, we (Anna and Nicole) have worked together at DiCocoa's in Bethel, Maine, where we first met. (Thanks, Cathi!) An immediate camaraderie developed and as the years went on and our children grew, we always looked forward to working the same shifts together. So, after thousands of croissants and many bakes later, we have found ourselves in the incredibly exciting position of starting a village bakery and cafe of our very own in the former Key Bank on Main Street.

We have chosen the name GEMINI because the story speaks well to the nature of our friendship; the Gemini twins were of one mind who fluidly collaborated well around their craft with good communication and cooperation. This story spoke loudly to us and it also plays well with the town of Bethel, which hosts two community-minded rock-star business: The Gem Theater, and the Maine Mineral & Gem Museum. Naming our cafe GEMINI seemed on theme, true to our story, and a fun way to present our work.
