About Us

25-bed, not-for-profit critical access hospital (CAH) offering inpatient and outpatient services to the River Valley community. Our Emergency Department is staffed 24/7 by board certified emergency physicians and trained nurses. We offer a comprehensive rehabilitation department, cardiac rehabilitation, a medical surgical unit, and intensive care beds, and a Family Birthing Center. Specialist physicians come to the Specialty Clinics, so you don't have to travel to receive specialty care.

Rumford Hospital is the hub of a rural health network comprising Rumford Community Home, Rumford Hospital Surgical Associates, River Valley Internal Medicine, Swift River Family Medicine, and Elsemore Dixfield Family Medicine.

Specialty Clinics - convenient place for people to receive special medical services locally. Board certified specialists from Central Maine Medical Center come to Rumford Hospital, so their patients don't have to travel.

Rehabilitation Services - include physical, occupational, and speech therapy for both inpatients and outpatients, as well as services to nursing homes. Our therapists treat orthopedic, neurological, developmental, and related problems. Staff members are certified in therapeutic massage, hand therapy, and osteoporosis treatment. We also provide occupational health and work injury rehabilitation services.
